About Job

From an at-home office Reservations Representatives sell American Airlines service to prospective customers by answering incoming calls and assisting customers in reaching satisfactory solutions to their travel related needs.  They apply sales techniques while providing schedules, fare and flight information to our customers in a manner that meets the standards of high customer service as outlined in training and the call handling guidelines.  In addition, the Home-Based Reservations Representative responds to callers' inquiries in our non-airline related ventures as call volume dictates.This position allows you to work from your home office but will require you to remain at your workstation for extended periods of time.  The 24-hour operation requires shift work.  Schedules will likely include weekends, holidays, overnights, day and evening shifts, and could vary throughout the year.  You will be required to work from the local reservations office for approximately 10 weeks, which includes several weeks of fast-paced, intensive training. Employees will also be required to report to the local reservations office periodically for training, team meetings, and as required by management.

We are currently hiring full time positions only This position starts at an hourly rate of $9.53 Upon successful completion of a six-month probationary period, employees would earn a rate of $10.00 per hour with current maximum $15.00 per hour Two (2) weeks of unpaid vacation after one (1) full year of employment with additional unpaid weeks accrued based upon seniority This position has limited health and dental benefits supplied by Cigna-Starbridge American Airlines employee travel privileges apply

Candidates must attend an initial six (6) week training class beginning October 10, 2011.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age
  2. High school diploma or GED
  3. Ability to work a variety of shifts, including p.m. shifts, weekends and holidays assigned by seniority according to operational needs, and overtime as required
  4. The operation covers a 24-hour period which includes weekends, holidays and overtime as required
  5. Be located within fifty (50) mile radius from the local reservations office
  6. Be within the local calling area of the local reservations office
  7. Required to provide at their own expense (these requirements will be verified and approved during a home site visit prior to working from home):
  8. A separate, dedicated area within the home in which to work including a workstation that is ergonomically sound 
  9. Subscribe to and maintain a high-speed internet connection such as DSL, broadband cable or fiber optic with a minimum upload connection speed of 384 Kbps or higher
  10. A dedicated telephone line that is free of all calling features
  11. Have and maintain properly located smoke detectors, satisfactory lighting and a grounded electrical outlet
  12. Reliable transportation to attend training and team meeting at the local reservations office
  13. Ability to perform duties while remaining at a workstation for extended periods of time
  14. Employees are expected to work as scheduled and in accordance with the American Airlines Attendance policy
  15. Ability to concentrate on details and handle multiple tasks with accuracy while providing outstanding customer service
  16. Self-disciplined and accountable for performing job functions with minimal supervision
  17. Resourceful and skilled in problem-solving and be able to handle difficult/stressful situations
  18. Previous Reservations or Customer Service experience in a call-center environment is desired, but not required
